Seuss-enomics
Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, wrote and illustrated more than 50 children’s books. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904 and he died in 1991. He delighted readers with his colorful illustrations, bizarre characters, and made-up rhyming words. You are probably familiar with his books, including The Cat In the Hat, Horton Hears a Who!, and Green Eggs and Ham, and the popular holiday classic The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

Suppose it costs the publisher of Dr. Suess’ books $6.25 to print and promote each book. Each book is sold for $13.75. How many Dr. Seuss books would have to be sold to make a total profit of $450.00? (For this problem, assume the profit equals the price of a book minus the cost of printing and promoting a book.)

Bonus Question
Bet you did not know that Dr. Seuss had three sons and three daughters (probably because I made it up). Anyway, he named his third daughter after his favorite fruit. What was her name? (Hint: Sir Isaac Newton got beaned with one.)
