Liberty Rings Out
On July 8, 1776, the Liberty Bell was rung to let people know that the Declaration of Independence had been adopted and would be read in public.

In colonial times, the Liberty Bell hung in Independence Hall in Pennsylvania, which, at that time, was called the Pennsylvania State House. During the American Revolution, the bell was hidden under a church floor for about a year to keep it safe from British troops. It was feared that the British would melt it down to make cannons if they found it.

The Liberty Bell developed it's famous crack in 1835 while it was tolling for the funeral of Chief Justice John Marshall. The bell had been in use since 1753.

Suppose the Liberty Bell was rung an average of 3 times each day from the year it was first put into service until the year it developed it’s famous crack. Approximately how many times would the Liberty Bell have been rung during that period of time?
